A Quick 4WARD.VC Update - Accelerating the Shift to Solar & Renewables ASK
Hi there :)
Wanted to give you a quick update on the latest here at 4WARD.VC's “Partner in Crime” Climate Accelerator - where we’re busy making hundreds of warm intros and helping our companies scale change the world!
But first, a quick SVB update
A Quick SVB update:
Here is a Joint Statement by Treasury, Federal Reserve, and FDIC
TLDR: It is going to be mostly okay. The Fed is going to step in and allow all depositors to get access to all their money etc… Only shareholders in SVB will end up being screwed by what happened… (full release here)
Back to business and 4WARD.VC :)
Here's a little bit more on the incredible companies currently in our program and how you could help them. If you know anyone who might be interested, please reply here and I'll connect you to the team.
Our Latest Accelerator Company!
Please give a warm welcome to REplace Energy, an Israeli startup helping solar developers find ROI-optimized solar project sites faster
Their patented system algorithmically searches municipalities for ideal sites for developing solar energy projects and synthesizes data sources allowing developers to shortcut months of initial project site research (usually via Google Maps or hiring expensive manual consultants).
ASK 1: If you know any renewable project developers interested in piloting their solution or any municipalities interested in promoting solar development in their region, please reply to this email and I’ll connect you with the founder, Matias.
ASK 2: The team is also looking for technical help/advice on using satellite imagery + AI to determine what is on each parcel of land (woods, grasslands, cemetery, river etc…). So, if you’re involved in satellite or drone-based image recognition or have access to large database of land plot information, please let me know.
For Family Offices, HNWIs & LPs
Are you a HNWI or do you work at family office? Are you interested in getting access to more quality climate tech deal flow?
If so, please add your info here so we can send the most promising and relevant climate tech startups your way :)
And if you’re an accredited investor, would love to hear your thoughts on our climate investor syndicate.
Btw, in case you missed the info on our other awesome companies…
DirtSat (SF/NYC) - Simplifying commercial green roof projects & maintenance
Dirtsat’s incredible system helps building owners decide between solar and greenification of their roof (which reduces energy cost, increases building value and tenant happiness etc…) to optimize ROI for rooftops
ASK: If you know folks in a) with large commercial or multi-family real estate holdings, b) that are sustainability directors of universities, c) or are corporate sustainability leads with large campuses, please reply out
2. Aqualitas (Israel) - Self-aware water sensors to help HVAC systems, factories and water processors know EXACTLY what’s in their water and reduce energy use
The problem with water monitoring sensors is that they cost a fortune, get dirty and unreliable and lead to major mess ups or excessive water processing and energy use. That’s why what Aqualitas is doing is so revolutionary - they’ve patented water sensors that can detect when their sensor quality is deteriorating and proactively (rather than reactively) fix the situation and prevent major health hazards or other issues.
ASK: The team has serious pilots and are looking for other initial customers/pilots in wastewater, manufacturing, chemicals and HVAC applications to prove their technology and scale.
3. Myro (NYC) - B2B reusable, refillable body care products from sustainable concentrates that save hotels 50%
The company, backed by athletes & investors like Serena Williams, Carmelo Anthony and Alex Morgan wants to meet hotel owners looking to halve their spend on things like shampoo, conditioners, soaps etc… while reducing labor costs & accidents becoming more sustainable & green
ASK: Myro is expanding into the B2B and hotel space and wants to meet hotel owners looking to improve guest experience, reduce cosmetics spend 50% and get ahead of government single-use plastic bans.
Know anyone who might be interested or interesting for the companies to talk to? Please just reply to this email and I’ll see if it’s a match
Cheers,
Matt
